Pakistan’s Dadabhoy Cement Industries Ltd narrows 9M loss

Pakistan-based Dadabhoy Cement Industries Ltd reported an operating loss of PKR1.73m (US$10,796m) in the nine-month period ended 31 March 2020, compared to an operating loss of PKR8.748m in the 9MFY18-19. Loss before taxation was down to PKR2.104m in the 9MFY19-20 from PKR10.303m the previous year’s nine-month result. Loss after taxation fell to PKR2.104m in the 9MFY19-20, down from PKR11.228m in the year-ago equivalent period.

Pakistan's Popular Group acquires Dadabhoy Cement

Popular Group of Pakistan has officially announced the purchase of a private-sector cement manufacturing facility in Sindh province of Pakistan.   The announcement says, "It is hereby notified for the information of general public that Dadabhoy Cement Factory has been purchased by Popular Group, and now its name has been changed to Popular Cement Industries (Pvt) Ltd."   Popular Cement Industries will start its cement production soon, the announcement concludes. Change of CEO in Dadabhoy Cement

Danish Dadabhoy, director of Dadabhoy Cement Industries Ltd informed Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on 22 October, that following the death of CEO Muhammad Amin Dadabhoy, the board of directors has appointed Fazal Karim Dadabhoy as a new CEO of Dadabhoy Cement Industries effective from 22 October 2018.   The Dadabhoy Cement plant is locatedat Kalu Kohar, in Dadu District of Sindh, Pakistan and has capacity of 2800tpd.

Pakistan's Popular Group has reportedly purchased Dadabhoy Cement

Pakistan’s Popular Group of Industries has reportedly purchased Dadabhoy Cement Industries Ltd. The company’s plant in Dadu District, Sindh Province, has been closed for several years following the alleged default of local financial institutions. Although the sale is yet to be made public, local news reports suggest that Popular Group has started refurbishing the plant.
